Paris Delegation at the Future Green Cities Congress in Utrecht
The City of Paris, through its Department of Green Spaces and Environment, participated in the Future Green Cities congress, organized in Utrecht by World Urban Parks. The Paris delegation, including representatives from the department’s directorate, the Agency for Urban Ecology, and Parks Management, presented the city's ambitious greening strategy and highlighted key achievements from the current term.
This congress fostered valuable exchanges with other cities committed to urban greening, such as Amsterdam, Singapore, Vienna, and Seattle. Common challenges faced by densely populated cities—managing infrastructure networks, competing uses of public space, climate change, and public health—were central to the discussions. Paris’ experience stood out for the speed and scale of its transformations, positioning it as an international reference.
Academic presentations, including those on the 3-30-300 rule, emphasized the positive impact of urban nature on mental health, reinforcing the need to accelerate greening efforts for a more sustainable urban future.
