Insights from Urban Future 24: Paris’ Commitment to Greening Cities

Great attending Urban Future 24 in Rotterdam to meet and share with urban leaders equally focused on greening their cities and making a new place for nature in urban environments! The conference highlighted the critical need to plan and deliver nature into city planning to enhance biodiversity, improve residents' well-being, and combat climate change.

Christophe Najdovski, deputy mayor for green spaces, biodiversity, and animal welfare, and Carine Saloff-Coste, Head of the green spaces department, had the opportunity to share their experience and Parisian strategies to create a Garden City. Paris is expanding green spaces, including transforming former industrial sites into lush urban parks and creating green school streets, closed to traffic and fully dedicated to children in the city.
