Burgas Communication Resource: Getting to Know Local Flora and Fauna
At the Burgas Urban Nature Exchange, each participant was assigned a plant or bird. They got to know their organism, and kept their eyes peeled during the exchange. During breaks, they taught others about their organism. If they were lucky enough to sight their plant or bird, they announced it to the entire group, so that others could see it too.
This is a great activity to get participants to notice their surroundings, and build more nature connectedness with the local environment. What's more, you can do this anywhere! All you need is a good picture, some evidence based facts, an engaged crowd, and you are good to go! Use this with any audience that will spend at least a few hours outside.
